Marcus now heads up the team at Hader Institute of Education as Chief Executive Officer, which has established itself and become a leading provider in the delivery of accessible and affordable online education. Hader Institute of Education is a highly respected Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing its learners the highest quality online education in the fields of Mental Health, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Youth Work and Community Service. 

Since acquiring Hader Institute of Education Marcus has led the company from strength to strength, consistently growing learner applications, learner engagement and the number of courses with the well established high quality RTO, to create a fully comprehensive and learner-focused online learning environment.

Marcus’ hands-on experience has allowed him to bring a high resolution understanding of the multifaceted challenges that Registered Training Organisations face at all stages of operation. Marcus started and operated his own Registered Training Organisation, Selmar Institute of Education (Sel - Sellen, Mar - Marcus = SELMAR). Marcus is well versed in governance, executive leadership and has a comprehensive understanding of the industry that has been informed by prior experience.

Most recently as Non Executive Director & Interim CEO of Catalyst Education, he led the company through the acquisition of three RTO’s, growing the company to a point where Catalyst was delivering training to over 6,500 learners in community services across Australia, with 200 full-time employees. Marcus’ ability to scale efficiently and his superb leadership skills allowed him to navigate Catalyst through Covid with aplomb, continuing to run programs in early childhood and aged care,  whilst the company achieved full team employment. His expertise includes strategic planning, organisational change, monitoring performance, achieving KPI’s and a driven focus on the financial drivers and performance for RTO’s under his leadership. His success includes 20 years of profitable trading; securing government and corporate fee for service contracts; recognition for quality and compliance initiatives and the introduction of private equity and new capital.
