With more than 30 years of experience across Community Services, Youth Work, Adult Education, Community Development, and Training and Assessment, Rhonda Mason brings a practical and learner-focused approach to her role as a Trainer & Assessor at Hader Institute of Education.
Throughout her career, Rhonda has worked alongside learners, young people, families, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and individuals facing complex social challenges. Her experience spans vocational education, youth support, case management, crisis intervention, and community-based programs designed to create positive outcomes.
Rhonda is passionate about helping learners develop practical skills, confidence, and pathways into meaningful careers. She has delivered Community Services qualifications, coordinated work placements, mentored learners, and supported diverse cohorts, including disengaged young people, long-term unemployed individuals, and Aboriginal learners.
Her work is grounded in strong community connections and a commitment to cultural safety. Through years of collaboration with local Aboriginal families and communities, Rhonda has developed meaningful relationships that support inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments.
In addition to her training experience, Rhonda has extensive expertise in youth work, Domestic and Family Violence support, suicide prevention, mental health support, and community development. She has established and led youth programs, facilitated support groups, advocated for vulnerable young people, and worked collaboratively with schools, community organisations, police, and government agencies.
Rhonda currently delivers foundation skills and IT training within a correctional setting, supporting learners through contextualised education and rapport-based engagement. Her diverse career has also included business ownership, volunteer leadership, event management, grant implementation, and large-scale community initiatives.
Rhonda’s commitment to professional development is reflected in her qualifications and ongoing training. She holds a CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services, a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and specialist training in Youth Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Intervention, Domestic and Family Violence, Child Protection, and Community Services practice.
