Hader’s Diploma of Counselling is now ACA-accredited

We’re proud to share some news for anyone studying, or thinking about studying, counselling with us: Hader Institute of Education’s CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling is now accredited by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

The course is listed on the ACA’s accredited course register as an accredited Diploma of Counselling, delivered online to learners across Australia. The ACA is one of the two main professional bodies for counsellors in Australia, and accreditation means our Diploma has been reviewed against its professional standards for counsellor training.

What this means for our learners

ACA accreditation changes what your study counts towards, from the day you enrol:

While you study, you can join the ACA as a free student member, a recognised way to start building your professional profile before you graduate.
When you graduate, you’re eligible to apply for Level 1 registration with the ACA, the entry tier for practising registered counsellors in Australia.

Why it matters

Counselling is a self-regulated profession in Australia. There’s no single legal licence to practise, so the credential employers, clients, and supervisors look for is a qualification accredited by a recognised professional body, and registration with that body. Until now, our Diploma gave learners a nationally recognised qualification regulated by ASQA. It now carries ACA accreditation on top of that, so graduates can step into the profession with a credential the sector recognises.
